Blaming others
A responsible person does not want other people to be the scapegoat for their sins and to blame them for their mistakes.
The term scapegoat:
It is taken from the culture of the ancient Jews. In ancient times, there was a Jewish religious tradition where one would lay one’s hands on a goat. This act was a sign and a symbol that the sins of that person were transferred to the goat. Then he would release this goat in a desert. They believed that the goat runs away with the person’s sins. However, this term is still used in the sense that a person is emptying his shoulders of his mistakes and problems. How many times does a person make other neighbors, the government, other countries, the president, or all people and groups the scapegoat for their mistakes and problems and blame them. While a responsible person never does that.
Although it is easy to blame others for our problems and mistakes, as Betty Ford, the wife of a former American president, says: “Blaming others is just a waste of time.”
When a person blames others for their problems, there is nothing left to solve the problem. This person is further imprisoned in the prison of trouble. But a responsible person constantly sees what parts of his life are under his control and what he can do according to them. He is ready to be responsible for these areas of life.
A responsible person, if he does something wrong, which leads to defeat or failure, or gets a result that he did not want, he says to himself, “I have gained experience, and then I will do the right thing.” Success helps the self based on continuing to believe and trust. Punishment and blame are more destructive than constructive.
Finally, there is a famous proverb that says: Don’t throw your snow on another’s roof.
