Is a woman really born only for the house and the house? Is a man a complete human being and a woman incomplete in creation and less than a man in mentality? Does the Qur’an address men in one way and women in another way? Does a woman not have the same political consciousness and wisdom as a man? Were not the wives of the Prophet (PBUH) his advisers and teachers of the Islamic Ummah? The truth is that the Holy Qur’an has given the answer to all these questions in Surah Al-Baqarah, and the interesting thing is that in some authentic hadiths, the position and status of a woman is said to be higher and better than that of a man.

The first male human, Adam (pbuh) was born from mud and clay, but the first woman (Eve) was born from the same back. The first invitation and command of the Great Creator to them was in the tone of equality (Askun ant wa zujuk al-jannah – you and the woman are here in paradise) and the word of nine was equally for both of them (wala taqraba huzah al-shajaratah – both of you) Do not go near this plant) and when both of them did not agree, then the order to leave Paradise and throw them to the ground was not only for the woman, but for both of them. And in another place, he warns them in the same way (note that Iblis is the common enemy of both of you), so it is clear here that a woman is a human being, an equal human being and a complete human being. She is equal to the male in belief, action, duty, consciousness, reward and sin.

There is no surah named al-Rijal (men) in the Holy Quran, but there is a surah named al-Nisa (women) in the fifth chapter. Out of respect for the holy daughter and motherhood of Hazrat Maryam, a chapter in the Holy Qur’an has been named after her. In Surah al-Naml, Bilqis, the wife of Hazrat Sulaiman, who was the queen of Yemen, is mentioned in detail about her political knowledge, rule and military leadership. In the holy book of Allah, the deep knowledge of Pharaoh’s faithful wife (Asia) and her advice to Pharaoh to keep alive and not kill the child (Hazrat Musa) caught in the river is mentioned, which is an example of her wisdom.

I (Malkzai) am not a Shariah scholar, but I studied history and journalism in an Arab country and I am familiar with the Arabic language. Since the interpretation of Sharia rules and the issuance of fatwa is the specialty of respected religious scholars and muftis, I will stop here by mentioning a few historical events. The Prophet’s eldest wife, Hazrat Khadijah, was a trader, the youngest wife, Hazrat Aisha, was a talented teacher and memorizer of two thousand authentic hadiths, and the middle wife, Umm Salama, was a wise counselor.

In the 6th year of Hijrah, at the time of Hudaybiya peace, the Quraysh representatives did not allow the Prophet (PBUH) to enter Makkah. With the intention of performing Umrah, he asked his companions to make their goods halal and cut their hair. A large number of companions were angry and did not come to accept the word of the Messenger of Allah immediately, so the Prophet entered his room sad and tired. His wife (Umm Salamah) advised that O Messenger of Allah, sacrifice your hair and wealth on the tent and see what happens. Thanks to a woman’s helpful advice, the problem was solved and all the Companions hurriedly and regretfully put him on the bridge and cut his hair.
