Image and emotion in literary text
Noor Kamal Irshad

Sentences and words become artistic when they convey a complete picture on the one hand and affect our emotions on the other hand. We do not speak of other perfections. Allusions, symbols, and other literary texts are colored, but these items sometimes, at times, create ambiguity in the text, and the reader does not always pay attention to these colors of the text, passing them by, if he understands, it is good, and if No it doesn’t happen in the story, so when it goes through like that, it’s natural that the text has no effect.

There are two types of images in a literary text, one called moving images and the other static.

Animated images are those that move the image in the text, and send the same vibrations and animations to our minds and yours, for example:

The petals of the rose shook north, a beautiful paradise cookie was coming from afar, when it reached the rose, it rested its wings and perched on the rose after a period of beating.

The above sentence has several animated images, the pages come to our and your mind as if we see them shaking, the paradise cookie is coming, we also feel this coming and the image moves animated and so on.

Inactive or static is the opposite, in the above sentences the paradise cookie is perched on a rose, now we see a static image of the paradise cookie.

The other is the sensitivity in the sentences, such that it takes us out of our natural state. One way is that if the writer wants to make the reader emotional, he must first feel that emotion in his writing, if he has not made it emotional himself, make sure that the reader cannot be emotional, you can read Tolstoy’s short story. Consider the following sentences in (Invasion):

The lieutenant listened and agreed, but he looked surprised and disgusted at the sight of his favorite doctor, who did not see him.

The doctor began to look at his wound, but the wounded man lost his temper and shook the doctor’s hand with a heavy sigh. Then he said in a voice that could be heard, “Put it on me, Marma!”

With that, five minutes later I approached the group gathered around him and asked the soldiers: How is the lieutenant?

Someone from the standing group replied: Breathe!

If you go beyond all the other sentences, just this last sentence is enough for every reader to take with him, because it is continuous, it affects the senses like a fire and makes you emotional, it can be an example of the rise of art. .

Words and phrases that readers of any level can feel, enjoy, reach meaning, and emotional, are the shortest way for a writer to always have his or her reader with him or her, because he or she is always our audience. Writers and literary men are not people.
