The path no one has taken
Translation of a masterpiece poem by Robert Frost (1874-1963).
There were two paths in a forest
I didn’t go over these two
I was on a path
I looked down as much as I could
In this way, I will find the last path
Then I took that path,
It looked good to me
And maybe I did it right
Because it was full of grass,
I wanted to step on myself in this way
Walking on these roads,
These two ways are very similar
This morning it was still covered in leaves
No one had taken a step
I also left my steps until tomorrow
I still don’t know that
What do these two ways have in common with each other?
I doubted it.
I will never come back.
Many years later,
I will tell you where I am
There were two paths in a forest
I walked that way
Not many people went there
And that’s what made all the difference.
The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I couldn’t travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Although as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning lay equally
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
