Disorders of thought, behavior and emotions
“I think we are all mentally ill. Those who do not have a bed in a psychiatric hospital are better able to hide their mental illness. But one day it may not even be possible. ”

Stephen King

Listening to the words mental illness can lead to confusion and sometimes even discomfort. One of the reasons for this is the lack of information about the disease in plain and simple language. The brain is the most complex organ in our body. Sometimes our brain function is disrupted, such as the heart, liver, kidneys or bladder.

As much as a good psychiatrist is needed to treat a mental illness, we need to have at least some basic information about it. But while there are only a handful of talented psychiatrists in the country, there is also a lack of information in plain and simple language.

My profession is basically journalism. I became interested in this when the so-called psychiatrists and amulets of the country made a mental patient worse than before. After seeing a doctor and a patient three times in two weeks, he decided that he had to go to Peshawar. An astrologer at the shrine of Mia Ali Saib asked for fifteen thousand caldars. Twelve ghost babies have joined the patient, he said. At our request, the ghosts stay here in the shrine. “But in that case, we have to give each of them seven quarts of wheat for six months.” A mullah in Chaparhar said he was “enchanted”. I told this story to Wajid Ali Akhundzada, a psychiatrist from Peshawar. He laughed and said, “Put an amulet on our President Zardari.” We are not very tired. ”

Most of the printed and online articles on mental illness in Pashto language are dumb and dull translations or technical articles that the general reader is doing but the medical student is also interested. The audience of this article is the general reader – especially those who want to get brief information about mental illness in simple and easy to understand language and thus help to reduce the psychological problems of themselves and others.
