This deal includes the drilling and construction of a refinery in the northern provinces of Sarpol and Faryab, and is the first international oil production agreement signed by the Afghan government in decades. China National Oil Company started the production of Afghan oil in October 2012 and in the same month discovered huge gas reserves in Andkhoy area of ​​Faryab province.
